Advertising policy

Revenue does not edit the record.

Ads and financial support help fund LegisLens. They do not determine which officials, parties, bills, or votes receive coverage.

Separation

Advertisers, donors, subscribers, and sponsors do not receive control over source selection, methodology, calculations, rankings, corrections, or the presentation of public records. Payment does not imply endorsement by LegisLens, and appearance on LegisLens does not imply that an advertiser endorses the site.

Labels and placement

Paid placements will be identified as advertisements or sponsorships and visually separated from legislative records. Ads will not imitate site controls, official government notices, representative statements, or editorial content.

Programmatic advertising

Third-party advertising platforms may select ads automatically based on context, location, consent choices, or other permitted signals. LegisLens does not approve every individual programmatic creative before it appears. Users can report misleading, offensive, or inappropriately placed ads to ads@legislens.net.

Political advertising

LegisLens reserves the right to block or decline candidate, campaign, party, ballot-measure, lobbying, or issue-advocacy advertising where it could undermine the site's neutrality, confuse users about endorsement, or conflict with platform rules. Any political advertising that is accepted must be clearly labeled and will not affect coverage.

Rewarded ads

If offered, watching a rewarded ad will be voluntary and the reward will be stated before the ad begins, such as temporary ad-free access. A user who declines will not be told that an ad was official content or required by government.

Future sponsorships

Direct sponsorships will be disclosed, time-limited, and governed by written terms preserving LegisLens's editorial and methodological independence. Sponsored research or custom work, if introduced, will be distinguished from the core public record.
